Privacy policy

What we collect

Nothing you have to give us. There is no account, no newsletter, no comment box and no form anywhere on this site. Your name, email address and payment details are never asked for because there is nothing here to ask them for.

The web server keeps ordinary request logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — the way nearly every site does. They exist to keep the site running and secure, and they rotate out automatically.

Analytics

This site does not currently run an analytics script. If that changes, this page will say which one and how to opt out, before it ships.

What your browser stores

Your filter selections are kept in your browser's session storage so that returning from a printer's page puts you back on the list you were looking at. That data never leaves your browser and is cleared when you close the tab. Nothing else is stored.

Links to other sites

Almost none. There are no retailer links, no affiliate links and no trackers embedded from anywhere else — nothing here earns a commission and no link is a paid placement. The one outbound link on the site is a citation: the pages that mark a printer as committed to its maker's own supplies link to HP's own programme page, because a claim like that has to name its source. The URLs the specifications and consumable prices were read from are recorded in the project repository rather than linked from the pages. Once you follow that one link, HP's privacy policy applies.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.
