Kodak's take on the party printer, and the distinguishing trick is in the name: a dock. A phone slots directly into the connector on top and prints without pairing, which is exactly the right interaction when you are handing the printer round a room and nobody wants to join a Wi-Fi network first. The process is the same 4PASS dye-sublimation used by the Canon SELPHY — three colour passes plus a laminate layer — and the prints come out dry, handleable and water-resistant. Consumables arrive as a matched cartridge-and-paper pack, so paper and ribbon cannot run out of step; Kodak's own figure works out around 30 cents a print on the 80-sheet PHC-80 pack. One print takes about a minute, which is slow when a queue forms, and it prints 4 × 6 and nothing else.
